DAP Youth Program WISH LIST
“It is in playing, and only in playing, that the individual child or adult is able to be creative and to use the whole personality, and it is only in being creative that the individual discovers the self.” -D.W. Winnicott, British Pediatrician
A child organizes and understands her or his world through play. At Domestic Abuse Project we use Play Therapy to help children heal from the effects of witnessing domestic violence. It is through play that children are able to express and then manage the strong and painful feelings that happen when they are exposed to violence in their home. What starts with play, ends with healing.
DAP’s Youth Program uses three Play Therapy rooms which are always in need of supplies. Please consider donating toys for children who are healing from domestic abuse.
