She is also a trauma-informed yoga and meditation teacher and currently works with veterans at the Minneapolis VA who are in recovery from addiction and who have Posttraumatic Stress Disorder and Borderline Personality Disorder diagnoses. Mariah has worked with individual clients who are a part of the Ramsey County Mental Health Court program – conducting assessments and working with clients in a case management capacity. Her passion for trauma-informed care led her to volunteer with the Sexual Violence Center in Minneapolis as a Crisis Counselor and Advocate, counseling individuals who have experienced sexual assault. Her approach to client work is an integrative one – drawing from contemporary relational, feminist, attachment, somatic and ecosystems theories. Mariah believes in the power of holistic healing and supporting her clients in re-discovering their wholeness, innate wisdom and strength.
