Katie Augustin, Case Manager

Katie Augustin BA, is a Case Manager at the Domestic Abuse Project. She studied Psychology and Gender Studies at the University of Minnesota. Katie is part of the M Health Network research team. She works directly with the Behavioral Health Team at the University of Minnesota’s Clinic and Surgery Center to provide a holistic community response to domestic violence survivors. She does this by meeting with patients to provide support and other community resources. Katie has experience working with youth in emergency shelters and residential treatment. She also has worked with sexually exploited youth and with chemical health populations.

Katie uses a domestic violence focused lense and a survivor-centered approach. She believes that understanding the reality and complexity of survivors’ experiences is central to providing effect and trauma-informed care. Katie works to help each survivor overcome barriers by individualizing and customizing to each client to help them meet their basic needs. This ultimately leads their healing from the effects of domestic violence.
